Connect the bottom line to the distribution box

The bottom line, typically the neutral or earth wire, should be securely connected to the neutral link or earth terminal in the distribution box following proper wiring sequence and safety standards.

Step-by-

Step Connection Process

Turn Off Main Power Always ensure the main power supply is switched off before starting any wiring to prevent electrical shock or short circuits.

Identify the Bottom Line

Neutral wire: Usually blue (or white in some regions)Earth wire: Green/yellow striped Confirm the wire type and rating according to your load requirements.

Connect to Neutral Link

In a single-phase distribution box, the neutral wire from the incoming supply is connected to the neutral link bar. All neutral wires from output circuits (single-pole MCBs) are also connected to this neutral link. Ensure each wire is properly stripped, inserted fully, and tightened securely.

Connect to Earth Terminal

The earth wire from the supply and all load earth wires should be connected to the earth link. If available, connect the metallic body of the distribution box to the earth link for additional safety. The earth wire from the earthing pit can also be directly connected to this terminal.

Sequence of Connections

Connect the phase (live) wire to the input of the main MCB. Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB.

From the RCC

B, connect the phase and neutral to the input of the load MCBs (double-pole or single-pole as required). Finally, connect the neutral and earth wires to their respective links at the bottom of the distribution box.

Wire Management and Safety

Use appropriate wire gauge according to the load (e.g., 2. 5mm² for lighting and sockets, 4mm² for air conditioning),. Bind wires neatly with plastic ties and maintain uniform spacing.

Clearly mark all wires for identification. After wiring, perform a safety inspection using a multimeter to check for continuity, short circuits, and proper insulation.

Final Checks

Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Verify that the neutral and earth links are properly bonded and isolated from live terminals. Power on the system and test each circuit individually to confirm correct operation.

By following this procedure, the bottom line will be safely and correctly connected to the distribution box, ensuring proper electrical flow and compliance with safety standards.
