Setting up a Netgear router for fiber optic internet involves connecting the router to your ONT, configuring the WAN settings, and optimizing Wi-Fi through the Nighthawk app or web interface. Step 1: Gather EquipmentEnsure you have the following: Netgear router compatible with fiber (Wi-Fi 6/6E recommended for high-speed plans). Optical Network Terminal (ONT) provided by your ISP.

Fiber optic cable (usually SC/APC or SC/UPC connectors). Ethernet cable (Cat6 or higher) to connect the ONT to the router. Power adapters for both the ONT and router.
