Gcy optical cable

GCY type optical cables are air-blown fiber optic cables designed for high-density, flexible deployment with robust protection against environmental and mechanical stress. OverviewGCY optical cables, such as GCY-288C and GCYXTY, are engineered for air-blown microduct installations, offering high fiber density and ease of deployment. They are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, including FTTH (Fiber to the Home), broadband networks, and long-distance communication systems.

Construction Features

Fiber Units: Multiple 250µm bare optical fibers are housed in loose tubes made of high modulus material, filled with a waterproof compound to prevent moisture ingress. Central Strength Member: A central filler rope or non-metallic reinforcing element provides structural support and maintains the cable's compact shape. Outer Sheath: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polyethylene (PE) sheaths protect the cable from environmental factors, UV exposure, and mechanical damage.

Fiber Color Coding: Fibers are color-coded (blue, orange, green, brown, slate, natural, red, black, yellow, violet, pink, aqua) for easy identification during installation. Types and VariantsGCY-288C: Features multiple loose tubes with a central strength member and PE outer sheath, designed for high durability and environmental resilience.

GCYXT

Y: Available in single-mode or multi-mode fibers (G. 657A2 standard), with a non-toxic waterproof compound and non-metallic reinforcement. It is lightweight, low-friction, and optimized for high fiber density and efficient air-blown installation.

Gcyxty 12 Cores: A single-mode variant with 12 cores, non-metallic structure to prevent electromagnetic interference, and aramid reinforcement for tensile strength.

Advantages

High Fiber Density: Supports multiple fibers in a compact design, reducing space requirements in ducts.

Air-

Blown Installation: Lightweight and low-friction design allows rapid deployment through microducts. Durability: Waterproof compounds, high modulus materials, and robust sheaths ensure resistance to environmental and mechanical stress. Flexibility: Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, including complex network layouts.

ApplicationsGCY type optical cables are widely used in: FTTH and FTTx networksBroadband access networksData centers and backbone networksLong-distance telecommunication links These cables are designed to maintain signal integrity, minimize attenuation, and provide reliable performance in diverse environmental conditions. In summary, GCY optical cables combine high fiber density, robust protection, and air-blown installation capability, making them ideal for modern fiber optic network deployments.
