Price of new material cable trays in Uganda

New cable trays in Uganda typically range from UGX 150,000 to UGX 500,000 depending on material, size, and supplier.

Overview of Cable Tray Options

Steel Cable Trays: Steel trays are highly durable, corrosion-resistant (galvanized or powder-coated), and suitable for heavy-duty electrical systems. They are ideal for both indoor and outdoor installations and can be custom-fabricated to specific dimensions. Prices for steel cable trays vary based on size and load capacity, with standard trays generally starting around UGX 200,000 per unit.

Stainless Steel Cable Trays: Stainless steel trays offer superior corrosion resistance and longevity, making them suitable for harsh environments. These are available through marketplaces like Amin.ug, with prices typically higher than standard steel trays due to material quality, often ranging from UGX 300,000 to UGX 500,000. Galvanized Cable Trays: Pre-galvanized or hot-dip galvanized trays are widely used for both indoor and outdoor applications.

For example, a 400mm x 50mm galvanized tray is available on Shopit.ug, reflecting the mid-range pricing for standard sizes. These trays are lightweight, easy to install, and provide long-term protection against rust.

Factors Affecting Price

Material Type: Stainless steel is more expensive than galvanized or standard steel due to higher corrosion resistance and durability. Tray Dimensions: Larger trays (width and depth) and longer lengths increase the cost. Standard lengths are usually 3m, with 6m available on request.

Customization: Custom sizes, bends, elbows, and modular systems can increase the price due to fabrication requirements. Supplier and Delivery: Prices may vary depending on the supplier, delivery location, and additional services such as installation or technical support.
