Analyzer Overview

The DSX CableAnalyzer Series by Fluke Networks is primarily designed for copper cabling certification, supporting Cat 5e, 6, 6A, 8, and Class FA/I/II systems, with testing speeds as fast as 8–16 seconds per cable depending on the category. While the core DSX modules focus on twisted pair copper, the Versiv platform also supports fiber testing through OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set), OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer), and fiber inspection modules, enabling comprehensive optical network certification. Optical Cable Testing with DSXAlthough the DSX series itself does not manufacture optical cables, it provides modules for optical fiber certification.

These modules allow technicians to: Measure insertion loss and return loss for single-mode and multimode fibers.

Perform OTD

R testing to locate faults, splices, and connectors. Integrate results with LinkWare Live for cloud-based project management and reporting. This makes the DSX system suitable for hybrid environments where both copper and fiber networks coexist.

Terminated Cables

For specialized applications, DSX coaxial cables are available from vendors like Comtest Networks. These include: DSX Type 1 or 3 cables with various connector types (BNC, Mini/Midsize/Standard WECO, DIN-F). Pre-terminated assemblies for DS-3 cross-connections, supporting 734 and 735A coaxial cables.

Configurations for single or dual coaxial runs, ensuring organized and expandable network setups. These coaxial cables are often used in conjunction with DSX test equipment for high-frequency signal verification and network stability.
