Overview

A distribution box (DB) is an enclosure that receives incoming power and distributes it to multiple circuits through protective devices such as MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, fuses, and isolators. Installation Steps

Site Selection: Choose a dry, accessible location with good ventilation, away from water, flammable, or corrosive substances. Mounting the Enclosure: Secure the box to a sturdy surface using expansion bolts or screws, ensuring it is level and stable. Wiring Preparation: Strip insulation to the correct length, organize wires by circuit, and follow color coding standards for line, neutral, and earth.

Installing Protective Devices: Mount the main switch at the top layer, followed by MCBs and RCCBs in both layers according to load priority. Ensure proper spacing for heat dissipation. Connecting Busbars and Terminals: Connect all devices to the busbars, neutral, and earth bars.

Tighten screws securely to prevent loose connections. Cable Management: Route wires neatly, secure with cable ties, and leave space for future expansion or maintenance. Testing: Perform insulation resistance tests and verify all connections before powering on.
