Wiring Method for Botou Distribution Box

A Botou distribution box is wired by connecting the main supply to the main MCB, routing power through RCCBs for protection, and distributing it to individual load MCBs with proper neutral and earth connections.

Components Overview

A typical distribution box includes: Main MCB (Double Pole): Controls the entire supply and protects against overloads.

RCC

B (Residual Current Circuit Breaker): Provides protection against leakage currents and electric shocks.

Single Pole or Double Pole MC

Bs: Protect individual circuits or special loads. Neutral and Earth Bars: Provide return paths and grounding for safety. Busbars: Distribute power from the main switch to individual breakers.

Wiring Steps

Identify Input and Output: Determine the phase (live) and neutral wires from the main supply.

Connect Main MC

B: Attach the incoming phase and neutral wires to the input terminals of the main MCB. This acts as the primary switch for the box.

Connect RCC

B: Connect the output of the main MCB to the input of the RCCB.

The RCC

B ensures protection against leakage currents and shocks. Branch Circuit Connections: For Single Pole MCBs: Connect the phase wire from the RCCB output to the MCB input. Connect the neutral wire to the neutral bar and the earth wire to the earth bar.

For Double Pole MC

Bs: Connect both phase and neutral from the RCCB output to the MCB input. Connect the load's phase and neutral to the MCB output, and the earth to the earth bar. Wire Organization: Route wires neatly, typically with incoming wires on the left and outgoing wires on the right.

Use plastic ties to bind wires uniformly and avoid tangling. Marking and Safety: Clearly label AC/DC or voltage levels. After wiring, perform a safety inspection to check for short circuits, overloads, or loose connections.

Safety Considerations

Always switch off the main supply before starting any wiring. Use appropriate MCB and RCCB ratings according to load requirements. Ensure proper grounding to prevent electric shocks.

Verify all connections and perform a final inspection before energizing the box.

Additional Tips

Keep the distribution box enclosure closed to prevent accidental contact with live parts. For domestic single-phase wiring, a 230V supply is standard in many regions, while 110–120V is common in the USA. Use high-quality components and follow local electrical codes for compliance and safety.

By following these steps, a Botou distribution box can be safely and efficiently wired, ensuring reliable power distribution and protection for all connected circuits.
