Busbars are critical components that connect high-current and high-voltage subcomponents in high-power converters. This paper reviews the latest busbar design methodologies and offers design recommendations for both laminated and PCB-based busbars. Compared with traditional cables, a high voltage busbar offers lower resistance, higher current-carrying capacity, improved heat. This paper is an extended version of our published paper: Chen, Z. In Proceedings of the 2023 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), Nashville, TN, USA, 29 October–2 November 2023. While HEVs have a smaller battery pack and inverter in terms of power and the size of the electric motor, and BEVs have a large battery pack, inverter and motor, the challenges in designing the power. To connect various high voltage (HV) components to the HV system, TE also delivers a wide variety of busbars. In cooperation with the customer, these can also feature TE's Bus Bar Insulation Tubing (BBIT).
